Winter or Winter and getting ready for 2009

Okay, so enough with the snow and the cold already!  We have had it so good for the past few winters and now that we have the cold and the snow for more than a week at a time it is all we can do.  I mean really it isn't all that bad, everyone just needs to slow down a bit and be a little more courteous to the next guy and leave a little space between cars.

I am feeling a bit sad these days, I recently lost a long time friend (if 30 years) to the dreaded CANCER and of course two Christmas's ago, I lost my mom to cancer too and I have another dear friend that is plagued with this dreaded disease.

In the grand scheme of the world and "others" worlds, I am very fortunate.  I have my health so far, don't get me wrong, I have struggled with my health issues and to date I have won the battles, for that I am thankful and for my health I am blessed.  I also have the best friends that anyone could possibly ask for and sometimes I forget to tell them, so for my 2009 resolution I am going to try my very best to let the people in my life know how important they are to me ALWAYS and I am going to tell each an every one of them that I LOVE them.

I will spend this Christmas alone; not the first; hopefully the very last.  I have been invited by very dear friends to join them for dinner etc., I just don't want to be around other people, I want to be around "my" people (if that makes any sense).

I am baking genetti's and Italian donuts and maybe some cookies, just to remember my mother's tradition.  I do love you mom; even though we NEVER saw eye to eye on anything  -  where did I come from anyway, I am the least Italian looking kid any Italian could ever have :o) and mom I know you loved me too; even if you didn't tell me or show me the same way you did with my brothers, because of you I am strong and independent and smart and sometimes the most stubborn person ever.  I am learning more about myself and what is important.  Loving people and telling them how important they are is paramount to me and I want to have the best life I can; so I will.

Happy Ho Ho to you, to all that are reading....
