Life .... who knows!!!

Here I sit in a coffee shop, don't want to drive anywhere, don't want to talk to anyone, just want to enjoy my tea and pretend everything is alright, pretend that tomorrow I can call my friend and whine and complain about nothing like it is the biggest thing ever; she would listen and sypmathize and feel sorry for me because that is what friends do instead I will get up, pack my suitcase and head to be with her husband, hopefully to make things a bit easier for him (and me), to help him bury the love of his life (51 years of marriage - as of tommorrow May 13th). He is a wreck and feeling so alone right now, and I imagine he will feel that way for a while I still LOVE life and living and when someone is taken it just really makes me realize how little time I have and how much I want to do with the time I have, I want to live/love/enjoy and laugh a lot, along the way I want to touch people like I have been touched. So be good to the people that matter, you may not have them one day AND be good to the people that you don't know matter yet - they may need it and it might make the world of difference I don't even know what I am saying, I just know that I needed to say something. Keep safe everyone that might be reading this ... Thanks for being in my dash! The Dash *******By Linda Ellis I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beginning…to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth And spoke of the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time That she spent alive on earth And now only those who love her Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own, The cars…the house…the cash. What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard; Are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what’s true and real And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to ange And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we never loved before. If we treat each other with respec And more often wear a smile… Remembering that this special dash Might only last a little while. So when your eulogy is read With your life’s actions to rehash Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent your dash?
